Day Seventy One - "Thermostat"

Here we have a nice macro shot of the dusty thermostat in the hallway. The glass tube at the top holds a small amount of mercury that completes a circuit when the coil heats up and changes length, causing the tube to tilt downward.

Day Seventy - "Rainy Day Reflections"

The Nott Memorial and its reflection in a puddle by the rugby field. I think that most students at this school take the Nott for granted, including myself on nine out of ten days. It is really a magnificent structure and I am going to miss walking by it everyday.

An Extra Post!!! (NINJA VIDEO!!!)

After spending a significant amount of time filming and editting a video that I made for my Real and Recorded Time class with Harrison Paras, I decided that it turned out too good to just sit on my computer. Basically we had only three hours to plan and film a movie incorporating three words that were given to us at random by Fernando (our professor). So if you like ninjas, or cake, or exhilaration, then this just might be the movie for you. Check it out!

Exhilarating Cake Ninja!!!

Day Sixty Seven - "Yet Again"

I am aware that I already took a photo of this planetary model in the Nott Memorial about two months back, but I wanted to revisit it with a tripod in hopes of getting a shot good enough for the Physics/Astronomy Photo Contest. What do you think?

Can you find the little guy?

Day Sixty Five - "Aperture"

After spending three hours today working on the Video Drone project for Real & Recorded Time with Harrison, I had looked at the lens of the digital video camera so much that I need to take a photo of it. Once we edit the video that we made a little I will be sure to post it here for your viewing pleasure.

Day Sixty Four - "Thermal" & "Sleepy Sefcik"

Today, while at the 2nd Annual Tech Valley Symposium, one of the exhibitors was showing off his company's thermal infrared cameras and I couldn't help but pose in front of it.
Also at the Tech Valley Symposium, Matt "God" Sefcik (his nickname, not mine) couldn't help but take a nap in the very same hallway that the poster presentations were being held in.

Day Fifty Eight - "Rusted"

As a treat for everyone out there, I have decided to include a link to the latest project for my Real and Recorded Time course here at Union. We were challenged to record sounds and make a 3 and a half minute compilation of sounds from an average day. Enjoy!

Day Fifty Six - "Three Shadows"

The walk home from dinner with Mark yielded this beauty.

Day Fifty Five - "Crisscrossing"

I really liked the way that the shadows of these fire escapes intermingle. Once again, down in Asheville.

Day Fifty Four - "From the Gutter Up"

I was practically lying in the gutter of one of the main streets in Asheville to get this picture, but it was totally worth it.

Day Fifty - "James Taylor"

This image of the iTunes interface on my computer sure makes it look like I don't listen to anything but James Taylor. Although I think he is a great singer, I do enjoy lots of other music too.

My pretty new printer-scanner-copier free from the good people at Apple when buying a several thousand dollar laptop.

Sunday, April 02, 2006

Day Forty Eight - "Awaiting Demise"

Three little pink Peeps awaiting their demise. Were you aware that putting Peeps in a microwave causes them to expand to several times their normal size? Quick! Go and try it.

Day Forty Seven - "Sitting Idly By"

I went down to my sister's house for lunch today because it was her birthday and here is a flower on her table with my other sister in the background.

Day Forty Six - "Greasy Clock"

Here is a picture of the clock on the range in the apartment. It is wayyyy to greasy.
